The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch is about a group of con-men led by the brilliant Locke Lamora who play confidence games to convince the nobility of the city of Camorr to part with their riches, all the while breaching a Peace between Camorr's thieves and nobility. They are executing their latest scheme when a mysterious new enemy, the Gray King, rises and begins to eliminate other gang leaders one by one.

The story Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, part of the Hunger Games trilogy, tells the story of Katniss Everdeen, one of the victors of the 74th Hunger Games, as she and Peeta Mellark, the other victor, go on their victory tour, another sadistic part of the games, of the districts. The story takes an unexpected turn when the speciality of the 75th Quarter Quell Hunger Games is revealed. Katniss is going back into the arena.
